Chair of Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics

University of Ljubljana | Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

We conduct experimental work on setups ranging from large-scale (e.g., heat distribution systems) to small-scale (e.g., micro nozzles with 100 µm diameter jets). Experimental work can stand on its own or be used as validation for numerical simulations. Our experts can simulate fluid flow, fluid-structure interaction problems, solidification, and the subsequent mechanical and thermal processing of products using Ansys and OpenFOAM, as well as in-house-developed meshless methods. They can also design purpose-built simulation and optimisation systems to be used in production or distributed to costumers. Some examples of our long-term collaborations, company consultations, and available numerical and laboratory equipment are listed below.
