class=\"firefox_white\" style=\"float: right; width: 44%;\">\n<p><strong><em>Principle<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Creep measurements are performed in order to characterize the\u00a0deformation process of time-dependent solid materials when exposed to a\u00a0constant loading stress (force). The Center for Experimental Mechanics at\u00a0the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana developed a\u00a0measuring system<sup>[1],[2],[3]<\/sup> to conduct shear creep compliance\u00a0measurements of solid materials at constant temperatures.<\/p>\n<p>Procedure of creep measurements consists of:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>specimen preparation \u2013 gravimetrical casting into cylindrical shape,\u00a0and gluing the sample to the metal holders adjusted to the grips of\u00a0the apparatus;<\/li>\n<li>conditioning at elevated temperature with the next phase of slow\u00a0cooling to the room temperature in order to erase thermo-\u00a0mechanical history of the material;<\/li>\n<li>exchange of loading and unloading phases at different temperature\u00a0levels following pre-determined temperature and mechanical\u00a0loading profile;<\/li>\n<li>measurement of creep process at elevated temperatures, including\u00a0temperature control, recording and storing of results.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><strong>Results<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Following the pre-determined temperature and mechanical loading profile\u00a0of the measurement, we obtain segments of torsional creep compliance\u00a0for pre-determined temperature levels of the measuring procedure.<\/p>\n<p>By using time-temperature superposition principle on the obtained creep\u00a0compliance segments, master curve of the creep compliance as a function\u00a0of time can be constructed for selected reference temperature.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CREEP CHARACTERIZATION Principle Creep measurements are performed in order to characterize the\u00a0deformation process of time-dependent solid materials when exposed to a\u00a0constant loading stress (force).
