Metoda deluje na principu kompenzacije elektri\u010dne mo\u010di. Znotraj komore se nahajata dve grelni mesti za referen\u010dni in vzor\u010dni lon\u010dek. Termi\u010dna analiza se lahko izvaja na polimernih materialih v teko\u010dem ali trdnem stanju. Po opravljenem testu dobimo DSC krivulje, ki predstavljajo toplotni toka (<em>Q<\/em>) v odvisnosti od temperature (<em>T<\/em>) in \u010dasa (<em>t<\/em>). Vsi karakteristi\u010dni prehodi (temperature in entalpije) so definirane z ISO 11357 standradom.
