The website, which is in front of you, is a brief presentation of the Department for Management of Production Technologies; our activities, research work, and equipment of the two associated laboratories:

- Laboratory for Machining - “LABOD”

- Quality Assurance Laboratory - "LAZAK"

We strive to assist for the industry in terms of research, development, innovation, consulting, preparation of manufacturing and technological plans, cutting tool life measurements, different measurement applications and applications of research in industrial environment.

We are dealing with the processing of difficult-to-cut materials, innovative high-productivity machining processes, both on the applications for toolmakers as for serial production, on the processes of turning, milling (3, 3 + 2 and 5-axis machining), drilling, machining with robots (6 axis), etc., and the use of modern CAM programs. We are also dealing with machine tool precision and accuracy measurement and calibration.

We are developing hybrid processes with the support of an additional source of energy (cryogenic machining, high-pressure machining, laser assisted machining process, a combination of cutting and additive technologies, etc.) that increase the machinability or productivity of the cutting processes of the material or allow the feasibility of additive technologies (3D printing of plastic and metal products), in addition to "conventional" cutting process.

We are also working on 3D scanning reverse engineering (RE) technics. With the support of 3D scanning and 3D printing technologies, we design prototypes and new products. We are also working in the area of quality assurance with the operational approaches and technological measurements associated with the statistical control of products and processes (SPC), technological improvements and optimization of manufacturing technologies with the methods of design of experiments (DOE).
